The My hemoglobin is a protein for which the existing human HBM gene encodes. This is located on the alpha locus on chromosome 16 . The order of the genes is: 5 '- zeta - pseudozeta - my - pseudoalpha-1 - alpha-2 - alpha-1 - theta1 - 3'.
