The HC Viking Tallinn (until 2014 Tallinn Viiking Sport; Estonian Hokiklubi Viiking ) is an Estonian ice hockey club from Tallinn , which was founded in 2010 as TKK Tallinn and plays in the Meistriliiga . The club's home games have been played in one of the ice rinks at Tondiraba Jäähall since 2014 . Before that, Jeti Jäähall was the club's venue with 100 seats.

history

HC Viking Tallinn was founded in July 2014 as the successor club to Tallinn Viiking Sport , which had gone bankrupt due to a high debt burden. Shortly before the start of the season, the new club agreed to take on part of the debt burden with the association and received the game permit for the Meistriliiga . The club was not only the sporting, but also the legal successor to its predecessor.

As the debt was not fully repaid, HC Viking was excluded from the Meistriliiga playoffs in March 2015. In the 2015/16 season, as a result of the dispute with the association, HC Viking was not allowed to play games at home or abroad. The dispute was only settled in the summer of 2016 after the club had paid off EUR 12,000 in debt to the association. Then the HC Viking was allowed to play again.
