The Meistriliiga (also Coolbet Hokiliiga ) is the top ice hockey league in Estonia and has been played since 1991. In contrast to the other Baltic states , the Estonian championship was previously played out while belonging to the Soviet Union .

history

In the mid-2000s there was officially the only Estonian professional team, the Tartu Big Diamonds . These did not take part in the championship because they started in the Latvian Samsung Premjerlīga .
