The Qatar International Ice Hockey League ( English Qatar International Ice Hockey League , shortly QIIHL ) is the highest hockey league in Qatar .

The Qatari ice hockey league was founded in 2003. The championship games usually take place on Fridays on the permanently installed ice hockey rink called Villaggio Ice Rink in the Villagio Shopping Mall in Doha , which is the size prescribed by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . In addition to local players, Canadians and Europeans play in the league. Due to the different experience of the players, the league is divided into two divisions (A and B). In addition to the QIIHL, the so-called Desert Cup has been taking place in Qatar since 2007 . In the future, a team will compete in the league that consists exclusively of players from Qatar in order to use this player pool to set up its own national ice hockey team. A request to this effect by the QIIHL has been made to the National Olympic Committee of Qatar.

In addition to ice hockey, the Qatari ice hockey league also promotes other winter sports activities in Qatar. In 2010 she was one of the organizers of the Qatar qualifying tournament for Red Bull Crashed Ice . The competition was won by Bill Chase, a SandVipers player from the QIIHL.
