The 2008/09 season was the 19th season of the Meistriliiga , the highest Estonian ice hockey division . The champions became the Tallinn Stars .

mode

In the main round, the four regular teams played 21 games each, while the U20 national team (Eesti Noortekoondis) played twelve games as a visiting team. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a tie and defeat after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
