HMS Danae
Seven ships of the Royal Navy were named HMS Danae , the name goes back to Danaë from Greek mythology :
- The first HMS Danae (1759) was a 38-gun ship that was captured by the French in 1759 and scrapped in 1771.
- The second HMS Danae (1779) was a frigate of the 5th grade , the 1779 as a pinch was taken from the French and sold 1797th
- The third HMS Danae (1798) , a 20-gun ship of the 6th class, was captured by the French in 1798 and returned to French possession in 1800 after a mutiny by the crew.
- The fourth HMS Danae (1867) , a screw corvette of the Eclipse class, was used as the Hulk since 1886 and sold in 1906.
- The fifth HMS Danae (D44) was a 1918 overflowed from the deck light cruiser of Danae class , which as in World War II ORP Conrad served the Polish Navy and was sold in 1948 for breaking up.
- The sixth HMS Danae was a destroyer of the Battle class , and later as a destroyer Daring class planned, but was not built.
- The seventh HMS Danae (F47) was a Leander- class frigate launched in 1965 and sold to Ecuador in 1991 , where it operated under the name Moran Valverde .
