HMS Modeste
Six ships of the British Royal Navy were named HMS Modeste .
- HMS Modeste (1759) , a third class ship of the line with 64 cannons, which had previously been the French Modeste . It was conquered in 1759 and used in the port from 1778. Broken down in 1800.
- HMS Modeste (1793) , a fifth class ship of the line with 36 cannons, which had previously been the French Modeste . It was conquered in 1793 and used as a floating battery from 1804 . Wrecked in 1814.
- HMS Modeste , a fifth class ship of the line with 36 cannons, which had previously been the French Terpsichore . It was conquered in 1814, but never used. Wrecked in 1816.
- HMS Modeste (1837) , an 18-cannon sloop . Sold in 1866.
- HMS Modeste (1873) , a screw-driven corvette with 14 guns. Sold in 1888.
- HMS Modeste (U42) , a modified sloop of the Black Swan class . Sold in 1961.
