Branches of education
There are primarily four branches offered: IT , electronics , biomedical engineering and, since the 2013/14 school year, information technology / media technology. For everyone there is a higher department (HTL), whose five-year training ends with the maturity and diploma examination and thus the university entrance qualification. A four-year technical school is also offered in electronics, and an evening school in computer science.
Media technology
Multimedia content is required for modern computer applications. But not only the technical background is important, but also the design aspect. In the media technology branch, all information technology knowledge that is required for the multimedia computer world is taught. The design and creation of image, audio and video productions are treated in the same way as the design of user interfaces for computer applications, 3D representations and 3D animations or the development of computer games. Business and legal content round off the training.
Computer science
The IT branch combines technical IT training with business administration training. By taking the maturity examination, the final apprenticeship exams for retail, office, wholesale and industrial clerks are taken at the same time.
Evening school
In the evening school, the school-independent focus on software engineering is offered during an eight-semester training . The lessons are part-time and are held in the evening. There is also the option of completing evening school as a college alongside attending another school. This shortens the training period to six semesters.
UDA
Since 2001, it has been possible to obtain a degree ( Bachelor hons.) At an English university by taking part-time studies in Leonding . Graduates of the HTL branch EDVO and "analogue qualified" can graduate within one ( full-time evening school ) or two years ( part-time evening school ). This is offered by the UDA ( Austrian Partner of International Universities ) association. The current partner university is UCLan (University of Central Lancashire), Preston.
electronics
The electronics training branch offers three main areas:
- telecommunications
- Technical computer Science
- Biomedical technology has been an independent branch since the 2010/2011 school year.
These differ in the 3rd – 5th School year in the respective focus of each other.
Technical school
Attending the technical school offers during the four-year training period
- general education
- in-depth electronics training
