HVM Racing is an IndyCar Series team now owned by Keith Wiggins .

The team was founded in 1982 as Bettenhausen Motorsports by Tony Bettenhausen jr. founded. When he was killed in a plane crash in early 2000, co-owner Keith Wiggins took over the team, which now drove as the Herdez Competition , named after the Mexican sponsor. After the 2005 season this cooperation ended, so that the team was now called HVW Racing . During this season, Cedric the Entertainer was co-owner of the team at times , which led to the name HVM-CTE Racing . For the 2007 season, the former Minardi team boss Paul Stoddart bought into the team and the whole thing was called Minardi Team USA . During this time, top driver Robert Doornbos won two races and achieved another six podium positions. The second driver Dan Clarke , however, was rather unlucky, a second place remained his best result.

After the end of the ChampCar series, Wiggins and Stoddart separated again, so that the team now drives in the IndyCar Series with just one car, driven by Simona de Silvestro . Only at the ChampCar farewell in Long Beach did they start again under the name Minardi; Two more cars drove here with Roberto Moreno and Nelson Philippe .
