Ha-Zefira

Ha-Zefira ( Hebrew הצפירה The Alarm ) was a Hebrew newspaper in Warsaw between 1862 and 1927.

history

In 1862, Chajim Slonimski founded the Ha-Zefira magazine. She reported on news and interesting facts from science and technology. After half a year it stopped its publication.

In 1874 Slonimski re-founded it in Berlin , and from 1875 it appeared in Warsaw. Nachum Sokolow soon became the most important employee . The newspaper reported on current political events. From 1886 it appeared daily. From 1897 it became an organ of the Zionist movement .

In 1906 the newspaper ceased to appear. It reappeared in Warsaw between 1910 and 1914 and 1917 to 1927.
