Chaim Slonimski
Chajim Selig Slonimski (born March 31, 1810 in Białystok , † May 15, 1904 in Warsaw ) was a Polish Hebrew academic writer and journalist.
His works dealt with a. with mathematics, astronomy and calendaring ( Slonimski's formula ). He invented a calculating machine and received the Demidow Prize of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences for it in 1844 . Slonimski founded the Hebrew newspaper ha-Zefira (Dawn) in 1862 .
