Jewish Encyclopedia
The Jewish Encyclopedia ( English for Jüdische Enzyklopädie , full title The Jewish encyclopedia. A descriptive record of the history, religion, literature, and customs of the Jewish people from the earliest times to the present day ) is an English language between 1901 and 1906 in New York published reference work on Judaism . It contains over 15,000 articles in 12 volumes. Thematically both the history and the contemporary situation (around 1901) of Judaism and the Jews were treated. Isidore Singer was the initiator and editor of the work .
