Haardter Church

The Haardter Church is a Protestant church in the Siegen district of Weidenau .

It was built on its current location in 1883 after the groundbreaking ceremony on March 25, 1882. The inauguration of the church dates back to October 31, 1883. A building originally planned on the “Haardter Köpfchen” - a former Hauberg site - could not be realized beforehand. The largest church in South Westphalia caused construction costs of 160,000 marks.

The Haardter Church was also badly damaged in World War II . Although there were no direct bomb hits, the air pressure of nearby detonations and artillery fire caused considerable damage. After the war, the church was repaired so that a festive service could be held in it again in 1951.

The current seating capacity in the nave and in the galleries is 874 seats.
