Haci Bayram Mosque

The Hacı Bayram-Mosque , also Hadji-Bairam Mosque ( Turkish Hacıbayram Camii ), was in the years 1427-1428 for the poets and musicians Hacı Bayram-ı Veli , which the Sufi Order of Bayramiyye founded in Ankara built.

Right next to the mosque is the Hacı Bayram-Türbe ( Turkish: Hacı Bayram Türbesi ), the mausoleum of Hacı Bayram-i Veli , which is visited by many believers.

In addition, right next to the mosque is the Augustus temple with the Monumentum Ancyranum , the Latin and Greek accounts of the Roman emperor Augustus .

On April 23, 1920, the members of the first Grand National Assembly under Gasi Mustafa Kemal Pasha met in the Hacibayram Mosque. The opening of the National Assembly was traditional, with a public prayer at the mosque and the ritual sacrifice of mutton , whose meat was distributed to the poor.
