Hackxwhore ( spelling HackxWhore ) is an Australian grindcore and death metal band from Ballarat that was founded in 2006. They broke up in 2013, but soon found their way back together again.
history
The band was formed in 2006. After the self-published debut album Keepin 'It Stiff in 2012 , the group broke up in early 2013 due to the departure of the singer Adam Gillett. However, it was revived shortly thereafter in the same year. In the meantime, drummer Luke Marchant and bassist and singer Joe Eastcott had left the line-up, so that it only consisted of guitarist Kris "Cunt" Marchant and singer Zak Carey-Schofield aka Zak Kunt. In 2013 the album was re-released via Torn Flesh Records .
style
According to Brian Giffin in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal , the band plays grindcore, with the lyrics being humorous but rather tasteless. In their review of Keepin 'It Stiff , metalcorefanzine.com was particularly struck by the vocals, which consist of screams and growls , although it sounds as if the singer is wrapping his hand around the microphone head to increase the effect. The album was assigned to Death Metal, with the playing style being aggressive and stirring. There are quick passages and catchy riffs in the songs .
