Harbor pliers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The harbor tongs , also known as harbor fork or pot fork , are a device that is used in the manual production of flat glass .

The pliers are used for removing, moving and pouring out the pouring port . The two iron bars are cranked in the middle so that they grip safely into the groove under the pouring edge . Short cross bars secure the pliers and prevent unintentional opening. A crane chain enables the pouring port to be moved over the pouring table .

In large-scale flat glass production, a crane with a pouring device replaces the port tongs.
