Haferlschuh
The Haferlschuh is a traditional shoe model that was and is used as work footwear by the population of the eastern Alpine regions. In Bavaria this shoe model is also called Bundschuh , in Austria Schützenschuh . The Haferlschuh is part of many Alpine traditional costumes , but also a completely normal everyday shoe .
features
As a typical Bavarian everyday shoe, the Haferl shoe is available in different designs. For example, the Upper Bavarian version has a side lacing and the Allgäu version has a normal instep lacing. Most modern brogue shoes show the following characteristics:
- Double stitched design
- Shaft cut deep below the ankle
- The toe of the shoe with the upper edge at right angles downwards
- Toe of shoe raised in the shape of a ship's bow ( little boat )
- Rubber profile sole
- strong peak blast
- raised heel part
- no shank lining
High-quality traditional Haferl shoes predominantly have leather soles, but always models for shoemaking .
