features

The cicadas are 3.5–4 mm long. The head, pronotum and scutellum have a characteristic dark brown spot pattern. The wing veins in the basal area of ​​the forewings are light, in the outer area dark.

Occurrence

The species is widespread in Europe. The species is represented in the British Isles, while it is absent in Finland and Norway.

Way of life

The grove cicada feeds on various types of grass. The adult flight time lasts from February to November.
