The Shallow Bay ( English for Shallow Bay ) is an 8 km wide bay on the Lars Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . Formed by the limited retreat of ice cliffs, it lies immediately west of Point Williams .
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered it on February 12, 1931. Mawson gave it the descriptive name because it is difficult to make out along the coast.
