Half linen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Products in which the warp is made of pure cotton yarn and the weft is made of pure linen yarn and the hundred percent of the linen makes up at least 40% of the total weight of the desized fabric can be designated as half- linen . The information "warp pure cotton" and "weft pure flax (or pure linen)" must be included.

Semi-linen fabrics are used as table and bed linen, women’s outerwear, men’s outerwear, decorative and upholstery fabrics.

Half-linen fabrics absorb moisture better than pure cotton fabrics. That is why half-linen towels are very popular in the catering sector. A well-known product is the pit cloth with its distinctive checked pattern.
