Semi-portal crane

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The semi- portal crane is essentially similar to the portal crane , except that the support is omitted on one side.
This rail is not laid on the floor, but is mounted on a wall, on supports or on a girder on a hall wall like a bridge crane .
Semi-portal cranes are cheaper in terms of acquisition costs , but more difficult to set up because of the installation height and the poor accessibility of the second rail. Semi-portal cranes are mostly used in or outside of factory buildings for loading and unloading trains and trucks or for handling goods. The maximum load-bearing capacity usually depends on the load-bearing capacity of the hall wall.
