Half sandwich complexes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a half-sandwich complexes are understood in the broad sense those metallocene compounds containing only one cyclopentadienyl system via π bonds have bound to a central metal atom. The saturation of free (electron) valences takes place via carbonyl groups (e.g. tricarbonyl (η 5 -cyclopentadienyl) manganese ), nitroso groups or other heteroatoms (e.g. iodine ). Because of their shape, these connections are also known as piano stool complexes.
