Halityrus

Halityrus (1st century AD) was a Jewish actor who worked in ancient Italy.

Life

Halityrus was valued by Emperors Nero and Poppaea Sabina . When Josephus traveled to Italy to stand up for some of the Jewish priests whom the procurator Antonius Felix had arrested, he found accommodation with Halityrus in Puteoli . The actor also interceded for Josephus at Poppaea Sabina, who came in 63 at his request.
