Hallicrafters was an American company that manufactured radio electronic devices.
The company was founded in 1932 by William J. Halligan in Chicago to manufacture amateur radio receivers. Hallicrafters initially also operated contract manufacturing for other companies and produced its own communications receivers from 1935, and from 1938 also transmitters. During the Second World War, radio stations were produced for the military.
Hallicrafters was acquired by Northrop Corporation in 1966 .
