Halou is based out of San Francisco , California and was born in 1990 . Their music has elements of trip-hop .
history
Ryan and Rebecca met in 1992 at an independent music store in Santa Cruz owned by Ryan's father. They moved to San Francisco three years later . From then on they called themselves Halou. In 1998 they released their debut album We Only Love You on the independent label Bedazzled ; it was warmly received by the critics. This was followed in 1999 with Sans Soucie, a collection of decoupled pieces. The next two albums, Wiser and Wholeness & Separation , were released by Nettwerk in 2001 and 2006 respectively.
