The Hamburg Blue Devilyns are an American football women's team from Hamburg . The Devilyns were founded in 2007 and are part of the Hamburg Blue Devils .

history

In 2007, the Hamburg Maniacs players switched to the Hamburg Blue Devils and have been the women's tackle team ever since. In their first season, the Devilyns were able to reach the semi-finals of the women's Bundesliga and lost there against the Nuremberg Hurricanes . After Hamburg was unable to take part in the 2008 season due to a lack of players, they started playing in the newly founded 2nd women's Bundesliga in 2009. This league enables teams to return to active league operations in a 9 versus 9 mode, which means that there are only nine players per team on the field, in contrast to 11-a-side football in the first division.

In 2012/13 the Blue Devilyns started an advertising offensive, with which many new players were won. In 2013 they trained in another game-free year and grew into a team. Since 2014 they have been playing in the 2nd women's Bundesliga again, and games in the 2nd division are also planned for 2015.
