Hammergraben (Wagram)

The Hammergraben in the Austrian market town of Fels in the Wagram region , one of seven loess ditches , is a wine and nature trail .

The up to ten meter deep trenches and ravines were formed by erosion and thus the basis for the later construction of the cellar alleys .

The excursion destination Hammergraben offers loess walls on which rare plant species grow, a large number of different mammals and birds (approx. 70 species, some of which are under nature protection) and is the starting point for an interesting wine and nature trail, which includes a historical, a natural history and a viticulture-specific one Part includes and ends at the northern end on the vineyard "Brunnthal" with the Felser Warte .
