Dumbbell in the hammer grip

The hammer grip is a type of grip used in strength or dumbbell training . It describes a neutral position of the wrist, in which the thumbs forward (hanging arms, thumbs backwards when gripping overhead) and the palms of the hands point towards the body.

This grip is especially used in dumbbell training with the so-called hammer curls , in which, in addition to the biceps ( musculus biceps brachii ), the arm flexor ( musculus brachialis ) and part of the forearm ( musculus brachioradialis ) are included in the training.
