The musculus brachioradialis ( Latin for "upper arm spoke muscle ") is one of the skeletal muscles of the forearm on the spoke or thumb side .

In the ungulates it is not trained; it is often absent in dogs .

The brachioradialis muscle is involved in the flexion of the elbow joint and rotates the ulna and radius against each other so that the thumb comes outward ( supination ). Due to its long lever arm, it is the typical load flexor of the elbow joint , especially with a pronated forearm.

The muscle is innervated by the radial nerve.
