Dierl is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Dierl is located in southern Hückeswagen on the edge of the approaching residential areas of the main town above the Wupper valley . In addition to Hückeswagen , neighboring towns are Hartkopsbever , Tannenbaum , Stahlschmidtsbrücke , Kobeshofen and Kleineichen .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1494 . It says in the document: “ Pledging of Wilhelm von Plettenberg concerning castle, glory, parish Hückeswagen, naming of the goods Dyrll u. Berchhuysen ”. The spelling of the first mention was therefore Dyrll . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and names it Thürl .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 13 people living in the village. In 1832, Dierl belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, which was categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential building and two agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, 15 residents lived in the place, nine Catholic and six Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , a house with seven residents is given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had a house with eight residents, in 1905 one house and seven residents.

Attractions

At Dierl there is an early medieval ring wall . Below Dierl on Peterstrasse, across from the Beche & Grohs company building, there is an old bunker from the Second World War , in which the company's workers found protection from air raids . The facility is not open to the public.
