Neukretze is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Neukretze is located in the northern Hückeswagen above the Wuppertalsperre . Neighboring places are Oberhombrechen , Mittelhombrechen , Niederhombrechen , Kormannshausen , Mitberg and Karrenstein . The Hofschaft can be reached via an access road that branches off from the K11 district road at Kormannshausen and also connects Niederhombrechen.

history

The name Neukretze refers to older farms of the same name. The Oberkretze and Niederkretze farms were located in the Wupper valley and were demolished before the Wuppertal dam in 1973 and 1975 and flooded in the mid-1980s.

In 1481 the towns of Ober- and Nieder-Kretze are mentioned in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. Both places are named "Im Kretze".
