Pixberg is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Pixberg is located in the north of Hückeswagen on the K11 district road above the Wupper pre-dam of the Wuppertal dam . Neighboring towns are Hummeltenberg , Böckel , Frohnhausen , Pixbergermühle and Bergerhof .

history

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. The spelling of the first mention was on the mountain . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Picsberg . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 15 people lived in the village. In 1832 Pixberg belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and three agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 43 residents lived in the place, 21 of them Catholic and 22 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 four houses with 71 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had five houses with 63 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 42 inhabitants.

In July 1923 there was a border post of the French army on the way to Pixberg, which separated the occupied and unoccupied area in the course of the war in the Ruhr.
