Fockenhausen is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Fockenhausen is located in northeastern Hückeswagen near Radevormwald . Neighboring towns are Marke , Niederdahlhausen , Herweg , Heinhausen , Pleuse , Oberbeck and Scheuer .

The village can be reached via an access road that branches off between Herweg and Marke from federal road 483 (B483) and also connects Pleuse. The Fockenhäuser Bach , a tributary of the Scheuerbach, rises between Pleuse and Fockenhausen .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1407 , namely “ Henking Vocke appears in a document about the renunciation of Stael v. Holstein to the Bergische Erbdrosten- und Erbhofmeisteramt ". Spelling of the first mention: (Henking) Vocke . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Fockenhusen . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 14 people lived in the village. In 1832 Fockenhausen belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had two residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 13 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, six houses with 18 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 22 inhabitants, in 1905 three houses and 14 inhabitants.
