Schneppenthal is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Schneppenthal is located in the southwest of Hückeswagen on the edge of the forest and local recreation area Mul . Neighboring places are Kleinenscheidt , Altenhof , Großenscheidt , Westhofen and Westhoferhöhe . The Hofschaft can be reached via an access road that branches off from the K5 district road at Kleinenscheidt.

The Schneppenthaler Bach rises near Schneppenthal and later flows into the Purder Bach .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1374 : “The Cologne St. Ursulastift has income from the Snependale farm in the Hückeswagen parish”. Spelling of the first mention : Sneppendale .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 25 people living in the village. In 1832 Schneppenthal belonged under the name Schneppendahl to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayorry . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 13 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , three houses with 20 inhabitants are given for 1885.
