Stahlschmidtsbrücke is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and transport links

Stahlschmidtsbrücke is located in southern Hückeswagen on the border with Wipperfürth. Neighboring towns are Westenbrücke , Kobeshofen , Sohl , Dierl , Mühlenberg and Kleineichen . The federal road 237 (B237) between Hückeswagen and Wipperfürth connects the place. Stahlschmidtsbrücke is characterized by a large industrial area.

In 1746 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document. Stahlschmidt was mayor of Hückeswagen. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and describes it with bridges .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 31 people lived in the village. In 1832 Stahlschmidtsbrücke belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and three agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 34 residents lived in the place, ten Catholic and 24 Protestant faith.
