Steinberg is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and transport links

Steinberg is located in the south-east of Hückeswagen, right on the border with Wipperfürth. Neighboring places are Großeichen , Kleineichen , Fürweg , Heide , Hartkopsbever , Reinshagenbever and Elberhausen . Steinberg is not to be confused with the past also in Hückeswagen Steinberg south of the town center.

The place is connected via a connecting road that branches off from the district road K 5 at Kleineichen, leads to the center of Wipperfürth and also connects Großeichen and Fürweg. From Steinberg you have a good view of the Bevertalsperre dam .

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a farm with the place name "Steinbach" at the site of Steinberg . The topographical photograph of the Rhineland from 1825 shows four separate floor plans in a delimited courtyard. From this map onwards, the place name in all topographic maps is “Steinberg” .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 20 people living in the village. In 1832, Kleineichen belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and three agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 21 residents lived in the place, 17 Catholic and four Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , five houses with 30 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 27 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 21 inhabitants.
