Knefelsberg is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Knefelsberg is located in southern Hückeswagen on the edge of the Kobeshofen industrial area and can be reached via a connecting road that branches off from the K5 district road between Grünestraße and Altenholte , leads to the center of Hückeswagen and also connects Sohl and Hambüchen .

North of Knefelsberg, the Knefelsberger Bach flows past, into which the Hambüchener Siepen brook also flows.

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in the list of donations for the Marienaltar of the Hückeswagenerkirche in the spelling zom Knevelsberge .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 twelve people lived in the village. In 1832 Knefelsberg belonged to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, 33 residents lived in the place, 13 Catholic and 20 Protestant faith.
