history

A Hückeswagen place Linde was first mentioned in a document in 1487 . In the loan list for Duke Wilhelm von Jülich-Berg , a Wolekwy zo of Lynde is listed. However, it is unclear whether this is not referring to the linden tree from the Große Honschaft near Dörpfeld , which has been called Dörpfelderhöhe since the 19th century . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Lingen . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 twelve people lived in the village. In 1832 Linde belonged to the Herdingsfeld Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had five residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 seven houses with 31 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had five houses with 23 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 25 inhabitants.

Linde is located on the Hückeswagen – Radevormwald section of a medieval military , trade and pilgrimage route , today's federal road.
