Wegerhof is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Wegerhof is located in western Hückeswagen, close to the larger district of Wiehagen . Other neighboring towns are Westhoferhöhe , Hambüchen , Grünenthal , Altenhof , Großenscheidt and Kleinenscheidt .

The village can be reached via a connecting road that branches off from the K5 district road near Kleinenscheidt and leads to the historic center of Hückeswagen.

The Weierbach , a tributary of the Wupper, has its source near Wegerhof .

history

In 1490 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention : Wegerhove .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 31 people lived in the village. In 1832 Wegerhof belonged to the Great Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at the time. At that time 32 people lived in the place, 17 catholic and 15 evangelical faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , four houses with 36 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 34 inhabitants, in 1905 two houses and 24 inhabitants.
