Bochen is a village in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and description

Bochen is located in the western part of Hückeswagen near Straßweg .

Other neighboring towns are Dörpfeld , Hülsenbusch , Dörpfelderhöhe and Kleinkatern . The village can be reached from a dead end road from the L68 between Scheideweg and Straßweg .

The Heiensiefen , Bucher Siefen and Bochensiefen brooks arise around Bochen , all of which are tributaries of the Purder Bach , which flows into the Great Dhünntalsperre .

history

In 1483 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document, namely "Donation list for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church." The spelling of the first mention was zom Boichen .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 28 people lived in the village. In 1832 Bochen belonged to the Grand Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had three residential buildings and seven agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , four houses with 32 inhabitants are given for 1885.
