Niederdorp , also Niederdörpe in the 19th century , is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

Niederdorp is located in the southwest of Hückeswagen on the border with Remscheid near Scheideweg . Other neighboring towns are Maisdörpe , Oberdorp , Winterhagen , Remscheid-Sonnenschein and Remscheid-Bornbach. The Hofschaft can be reached via a branch road from the federal road 237 between Hückeswagen and Remscheid-Bergischborn, which branches off at Dörpe .

The route of the disused railway line between Remscheid-Bergischborn and Marienheide ( timetable KBS 412) leads past the Hofschaft. Oberdorp borders the industrial area "Gewerbepark Bergisch Land", the largest in the city of Hückeswagen. The place is located in the headwaters of the Dörpe brook , which later flows into the Wuppertalsperre .

In 1484 the place was documented for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention : tom Dorppe .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 23 people lived in the village. In 1832 Niederdorp belonged to the Great Honorship , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and five agricultural buildings at that time. At that time there were 25 residents in the village, six of them Catholic and 19 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , two houses with 22 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had two houses with 17 inhabitants, in 1905 three houses and 25 inhabitants.
