Fuhr is a district of Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Fuhr is located near the main town in Hückeswagen north of the center between the federal highway 483 and the district road K11. Other neighboring towns are Brücke , Aue , Bergerhof and Kleinberghausen . The Reinsbach flows through the village and flows into the Wupper here .

history

In 1443 Fuhr is mentioned in Hückeswagen church accounts under the name "up der Furt" . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and designates this courtyard with adFuhr .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 31 people lived in the village. In 1832, Fuhr belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, which was categorized as a merchant's house according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, nine residents lived in the place, three Catholic and six Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , eight houses with 103 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had seven houses with 112 inhabitants, in 1905 eleven houses and 145 inhabitants.

The Hueck factory, which was built in brick in the middle of the 19th century, is located in the village. The building is entered under the serial number 138 in the list of monuments of the city of Hückeswagen .
