Aue is located near the main town of Hückeswagen on the Wupper, north of the center, on a road connecting the district roads K11 and K12. Other neighboring towns are Fuhr , Brücke , Kleinberghausen and Schmitzberg . The route of the disused railway line between Remscheid - Bergisch Born and Marienheide ( timetable KBS 412) separates the town from the Wupper.
Aue developed from a court to a residential area. A factory building worth seeing represents the industrial-historical aspect of the town.
history
In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 34 people living in the village. In 1832 Aue belonged under the name Brüningsau to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, which was categorized as a merchant's house according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two houses, a factory or mill and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 38 people lived in the village, two of them Catholic and 36 Protestant.
In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , three houses with 58 residents are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had three houses with 59 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 45 inhabitants.
