Steffenshagen is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Steffenshagen is located in the north of Hückeswagen above the Wuppertalsperre . Neighboring towns are Hangberg , Engelshagen , Vosshagen , Ulemannssiepen and Karrenstein across the Wuppertalsperre .

The Hofschaft can be reached via an access road that branches off from the K2 district road between Dorpmühle and Wiehagen and also connects Hammerstein , Voßhagen and Dürhagen .

The Pölchenssiefen brook rises south-east of Steffenshagen and flows into the Wuppertalsperre.

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1532 : Wymar and other residents in Hagen are mentioned in a list of residents. Spelling of the first mention: im Hagen . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as S.Hagen , the topographical image of the Rhineland as Thomashagen . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

1815/16 lived 18 inhabitants in the place. In 1832 Steffenshagen belonged to the Lüdorfer Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had four residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 four houses with 31 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had four houses with 26 inhabitants, in 1905 two houses and twelve inhabitants.
