Vormwald is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Vormwald is located in northern Hückeswagen near Radevormwald above the Wiebach valley. Neighboring towns are Oberbeck , Mittelbeck , Niederbeck , Herweg and Neuenherweg . The Hofschaft can be reached via an access road that branches off from the K11 district road between Neuenherweg and Oberhombrechen and also connects Oberhombrechen, Mittelhombrechen and Karrenstein .

The Vormwalder Bach , a tributary of the Wiebach, rises near Vormwald .

In 1481 the place was mentioned for the first time in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. Spelling of the first mention: tom Walde . The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the farm as in front of the forest . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 there were 25 people living in the village. In 1832 Vormwald belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor, under the name of Wald . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had six residential buildings and six agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, 29 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 three houses with 20 inhabitants are given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had three houses with 15 inhabitants, in 1905 three houses and 19 inhabitants.
