Oberbeck is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
Oberbeck is in the north of Hückeswagen near Radevormwald .
Neighboring towns are Kirschsiepen , Niederdahlhausen , Herweg , Mittelbeck , Vormwald , Fockenhausen , Scheuer and Pleuse . The village can be reached via an access road that branches off from the federal road 483 (B483) at Herweg .
The Mittelbeck brook , a tributary of the Leiverbach, has its source near Oberbeck .

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1487: "Kerstge zo der Beck" is listed in the application (loan list) for Duke Wilhelm III. from mountain . Spelling of the first mention: Beck . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as o.Bech . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .
19 inhabitants lived in Beck in 1815/16 ; the source does not differentiate between Oberbeck, Mittelbeck and Niederbeck. 1832 belonged to Beck, also not between the upper, medium and low Beck distinguished the Herdingsfelder Honschaft to that part of the Hückeswagener foreign citizenship within the mayoralty Hückeswagen was.
