Eckenhausen is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Eckenhausen is located in northeastern Hückeswagen near the Bevertalsperre . The Hofschaft can be reached via an access road that branches off the federal road 483 (B483) at Linde .

Other neighboring towns are Buchholz , Zipshausen , Neuenherweg , Heinhausen , Siepersbever and Funkenhausen . Walked are Girke Hausen and place Hausen . The Zipshausener Bach flows past the courtyard.

In 1484 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. Spelling of the first mention : Eckenhuys . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Eckenhusen . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 15 people lived in the village. In 1832, Eckenhausen belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had two residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, two houses with twelve inhabitants are given.
