Hummeltenberg is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Hummeltenberg is located in northern Hückeswagen on the K11 district road above the Wupper pre-dam of the Wuppertal dam . Neighboring towns are Pixberg , Böckel , Frohnhausen , Pixbergermühle and Bergerhof .

The Hummeltenberger Mühle was not in the Hummeltenberg, but below the Wupper. It was demolished when the Wuppertal Dam was built.

history

In 1488 the place was mentioned for the first time in church accounts. The spelling of the first mention was Hummeltenberg . The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the farm as Homeltenberg . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen .

In 1815/16 twelve people lived in the village. In 1832 Hummeltenberg belonged to the Herdingsfelder Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor's office . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had two residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 20 residents lived in the village, twelve of them Catholic and eight Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, a house with 29 inhabitants is given. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had a house with 20 inhabitants, in 1905 a house and 23 inhabitants.
