Raspenhaus is a former residential area in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).

Location and transport links

The Raspenhaus residential area was located to the west of the town center of Hückeswagen on the K3 district road (here Wiehagener Strasse ) in what is now the intersection of the Drosselweg side streets and the Am Raspenhaus street of the same name . The place is no longer perceptible as an independent location, as it has completely merged into the settlement area of the Wiehagen district.

Neighboring towns are the Hückeswagen core city, Wiehagerhöhe , Waag , Brunsbach , Kammerforsterhöhe and Grünenthal .

history

The Raspenhaus residential area was only founded in the first half of the 19th century. While the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows no development next to Wiehagen, the residential area on the Prussian first survey from 1844 is marked and labeled with Hope . On the 1893 to 1956 editions of the Remscheid measuring table sheet of the official topographic map 1: 25: 000, the living space is labeled with Raspenhaus .

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland , a house with 37 inhabitants is given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had a house with 31 inhabitants, in 1905 a house and 29 inhabitants.

From the 1950s, the development around Raspenhaus grew. The vacant lots at Waag, Wiehagen and Wiehagerhöhe were completely closed in the 1960 / 70s, so that the residential area lost its independence.
