Höhe is a court in Hückeswagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Höhe is in the eastern Hückeswagen on the eastern bank of the Bevertalsperre . Neighboring towns are Kleinhöhfeld , Wipperfürth- Großhöhfeld and, across the dam, Oberlangenberg , Wefelsen and Käfernberg . Were disposed Fröhlenhausen , place Hausen and Rasselstein .

The place can be reached via an access road that also connects Kleinhöhfeld and Großhöhfeld and is accessible from a network of smaller connecting roads in the area.

In 1483 the place was mentioned for the first time in a list of donations for the Marien Altar of the Hückeswagen church. The spelling of the first mention was tor Hoe . The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows a courtyard and names this courtyard adHöh .

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 there were 41 people living in the village. In 1832, Höhe belonged to the Berghauser Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and four agricultural buildings at the time. At that time, 28 people lived in the village, four of whom were Catholic and 24 were Protestant.

In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province , two houses with 20 inhabitants are given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district . In 1895 the place had two houses with twelve inhabitants, in 1905 one house and seven inhabitants.

In October 2013, the residents of the town of Höhe won first place in the “small car” category with their decorated car at the Thanksgiving parade in the village of Egen .
